As usual, I try to say "Thank You!" to all of the deviants who have -ed my work or who have added me to their "watchlist". But, sometimes, when there are too many s (I like s, so go and some of my wallpapers), it's very hard to answer all of them. Besides, deviantART recognizes/considers such big amount of "Thank You!" messages as spam and temporarily blocks your ability to send the messages. So, what if there will be a possibility to say "Thank You!" right from your message center without visiting all "userpages" one by one? I know, that visit is a sign of politeness as well, but if each such "Thank You!" message will add one "page view" besides the comment to the deviant's "userpage", by my opinion, everything will be within the confines of politeness.
I agree that it's a good idea but it's also a bad idea, It's a good idea because visiting everyone's page and typing just,"Thanks for the Fave." Is time consuming especially if you get thousands of faves a week. But it also sets the precedent for SPAM messages in Auto-Replies. I guess every system has it flaws and strengths. I would like to see this implemented only because i find myself being lazy and don't want to be bothered with doing a whole bunch of thank you's. The costs out weigh the risks.
I like the way you presented it Alex, but I would disagree for this to be a part of dA. I mean like people mentioned before, I don't want a robot to thank me for faving your work. If you can't be bothered to do it yourself, and type it, then I'd rather not be thanked at all.
Some people actually do the thanking part to promote themselves, so everyone could see them everywhere, and this only helps that, and won't make anyone seem polite, at all.
I usually don't thank people for the favourite. I do thank them on my own page, for a comment, or something. Whenever I thank people for the favourite, I actually type what I have to say rather than copy/paste.
I think people should have like a tight connection, and talk to each other personally, not use a feature to do their job. I would hate to have a number of new comments on my profile page, and realise all of them came automatically from the people I just faved the work of.
A very helpful idea, but what would you think when you receive the same "thank you" as 150 people, would you think the thank was really thought knowing that... ? I don't know
But I truly understand the idea, I use to thank all my watchers and people who faved my work but now there's too many, I've give up, say "thank you" for the hundreds times can't make me feel that I trully think it for everybody, because I don't know and won't remember most of them... So I'd prefer stopped.
But I still want to thank everybody of course. I think that wrote a journal sometimes and say a huge thank you to everybody is better for me.
Changing love and support into a mechanical click might not be the most polite answer The "thanks answer" IS a huge problem
Yes, I do agree. "Mechanical answer" is not a good solution. But, at the same time, when I received a lot of s, as usual I just paste and copy "Thank you very much for the " or something like that to all. It's the same "Mechanical answer" is not? So, I do not know. Do not answer at all? Not so good I think. If this "Mechanical" answer will be a bit customizable everything will be okay I think.
